Donate Books
Got books? We want 'em!
We rely on new and gently-used book donations from our community to support and strengthen book inventory for all of our Book Access Programs. We accept books for readers of all ages!
Local Drop-Off Locations
Books for Keeps has drop-off locations around town in Athens, GA including our BFK Warehouse and office. We recommend large donations be coordinated directly with the Books for Keeps team. Email us at info@booksforkeeps.org to schedule a drop-off with our team.

For smaller donations (5 boxes of books or less), feel free to drop them off at any of our around-town businesses. We recommend calling ahead to the location before bringing books, so that you can confirm hours and any guidelines used by these businesses – including what entrance to use, whether you should remain in your car, or whether masks are required. We want to accept your donated books and be good neighbors to these businesses!
***Please do not donate textbooks and encyclopedias. These books, unfortunately, are rarely selected during distribution events and will likely be recycled.***

What does BFK do with donated books?
We redistribute them back into the community! When books are donated to Books for Keeps, their first stop is our BFK Warehouse. Volunteers and staff sort through the titles and categorize them by book type and reading level. Our team determines where the books go next based on program need. Books might then land on our BFK Bookmobile, at the annual Community Book Fair, and more! Learn more here.
