Books for Keeps to Host 6th Annual Community Book Fair This October

ATHENS, GA. September 17, 2025. This October, community members are invited to visit the Books for Keeps Book Warehouse to get free books to share with their community, helping to further expand book access and literacy for all.


Books for Keeps will host its 6th Annual Community Book Fair during the first three weekends in October (Oct. 10-12, 16-19) at its Book Warehouse at 420 Athena Drive in Athens, GA. All guest are invited to take up to 100 free books per day. Books provided at the event are new and gently-used titles donated by the community throughout the year and include selections for children, adults, educators, and more. Last year’s event gave away 48,012 books to 2,058 visitors from 161 counties. 


Friday October 10 is Teachers Day, when Books for Keeps welcomes public school teachers and staff to get a sneak peek of the selection, and take home books for their classroom libraries and lessons. Visitors will need to show a public school ID or a paystub at the door.


Saturday October 11 is $10 Preview Day, open to the general public but $10 at the door (cash, card, or venmo accepted).


The remaining days are free and open to the public.

  • Sunday October 12th, 10:00AM-2:00PM

  • Thursday October 16th, 2:00-6:00PM

  • Friday October 17th, 2:00-6:00PM

  • Saturday October 18th, 10:00AM-2:00PM

  • Sunday October 19th, 10:00AM-2:00PM
