This BFK Student Art Contest has finally ended and the winners have been selected! That’s right, winners! With an S! After a lengthy selection process, we weren’t able to choose just one so we ended up with *two* incredibly talented winners for the inaugural BFK T-shirt contest!
In March, we invited all Clarke County School District students, K-8, to create an original piece to showcase their artistic talent to be printed on this year’s Spring Distributions T-Shirt. It’s our hope that this will become an annual campaign for students to see their art come to life. This year’s prompt we chose to help inspire students’ art was “Where do books take you?” which provided some absolutely fantastic art from students all over Clarke County. All proceeds raised from the sale of shirts will go towards funding Spring Book Distributions for next year!
A 2nd grade student from Barrow Elementary, Leah, and a 6th grade student from Clarke Middle, Evey, were selected as this year’s winners. Their pieces, “A Little Pig With Wings” and “A Whole New World” can be both be found for sale by visiting our bonfire site here. Winners were informed they would will be recognized with free t-shirts for them and their family, a $100 Avid Bookstore gift card, and the opportunity to be recognized at an upcoming Clarke County School Board meeting for their achievements.
We’re so thankful to all the students that contributed their time, effort, and enthusiasm to this campaign and also to our partners at the Clarke County School District for working with us bring this campaign to life.
Don’t miss your chance to purchase a one-of-a-kind piece of art and support this opportunity to get more books to more kids next Spring!
